Pastle pink, fur and leather.....♥

Winter is here! Now we have to wrap up to the max. sometimes I just like to focus on a matching scarf with my bag and shoes and keep my outfit clothing simple that's what I did today. a day out for some shopping I needed the cosy-ist thing ever. swaged my H&M collar-less jacket with a fur collar I got from H&M last year and a leather bag that matched my fur collar. And to keep me even more warm I wore my high leather boots.

Dull grey day...

Todays weather was gloomy and I felt like wearing grey. I was invited to a gathering and here's what I wore:

coat: Zara
dress: Gap
bag: Céline
trousers: H&m

kuwait - Grand avenues

And I'm finally in Kuwait! I gave grand aveneus a visit to see what the big hype was about. 5 HOURS SPENT AND I DIDNT NOT GET BORED. I loved the souk part, traditional old shops. then theres
the luxury part with all the designers. a little world I would call it. super thumbs up!

Grand avenues walk way

fortune cookie store obsessed! pretty little details, found in the souk part of the grand avenues.

cute little idea! Basbosa is a traditional Kuwaiti desert/ cake. and here they baked it in coffee cups! found in one of the traditional cafes in the souk, forgot the name :(

Eid al adha.

yay its Eid, but i'm in London. it doesn't really feel much like EID. it only feels like Eid when your around with family * and when u collect loads of money* but hey its still Eid and looking at the bright side no school LOL. I felt like wearing something new this eid. Basically I bought two statement necklaces from New look after giving up finding a Eid outfit from the shops. literally found nothing worth it. so I decided to make my own outfit. I designed a puffed skirt and went to the local Material shop and got my self  2 meters of satin fabric and 1 meter of tutu (for the lining to help the skirt stand) and wore a plain black shirt in order for the necklace to stand out. and here's how it looked.

Black shirt: Mango
Necklaces : New look
Skirt: By me

Cheat the designer!

Today while I was shopping I found a couple of shops inspired by designers in their bags. I'm talking about inspired to an extent they look pretty similar but without the designer name/logo and the eeky price. Most of the bags are the top trend bags.
Image 2 of LEATHER BAG WITH METAL TAB from Zara

On the left is a YSL black bag pretty old season. and on the right is the ZARA inspired version costing £109.00
Image 1 of MINI OFFICE CITY BAG from Zara

On the left is the Prada Saffiano mini bag and on the right is the Zara mini city bag costing £29.99

On the left is the Micheal Kors studded Hamilton bag and on the right is the Primark's bag costing less then a quarter of the price £15

on the left is the Prada spring 2012 collection bag and on the right is a Primark's bag costing £18

I could carry on forever comparing designer inspired bags. its good in a way that you can find designer look alike bags for less and still look good. But as designer shops such as Zara they should make their own designs rather than get ideas from other designs.

Hessa Alkhattaf @khattafya

Hessa Alkhattaf  also known as khattafya is a young Kuwaiti fashion blogger. I personally chose her today due to her modest style. while I was looking through her Instagram I noticed her outfits are very modest and fashionable at the same time. she's a great inspiration to other Muslim girls due to her fashionable and modest style. Also her outfit of the day pictures are very nice, high quality and very clear. which I see as very important for a fashion blogger as the outfit my completely show. i asked her a couple of questions and here is what she replied with. she was really friendly and sweet when I asked her the questions.

The black skirt in the picture is from her
fashion line >

1-What inspired you to start your own blog?
she always had an eye for fashion. and with her family and friends support she opened a fashion blog, However now she has closed it as she hasn't got enough time. However she still posts photos on her instagram account.
2- Give us an insight into your daily routine/typical day ?
she doesn't have a specific routine,  sometimes she simply sits in her room and sketches designs for her clothing line, some days are for shopping and other days are family days,
3-where would you like to see your blog in the future?
shes was wishing for international fame, but she has achieved that. she has 123648 blog views from around the world and shes really happy with that. *one of them is me -London hehe*
4- what's your favourite designer or brand ?
she doesn't have a favourite brand but she likes the designs of @J_by_yousif . He's a young Kuwaiti designer with lovely and unique designs.
5- where do u normally shop ? Any specific mall or shop ?
She's likes shopping in the Avenues mall (Kuwait ) because it has more then 50 shops. she likes to shop at H&M which is also my favourite shop.
6- do you have a specific fashion icon, if yes who?
She doesn't have a specific Arab fashion icon however she has a non-arab fashion icon.
7- what advice would you give to bloggers that have just started their journey ?

Also she has recently launched her own fashion line also called 'khattafya' you find it on her instgram page @Khattafya <3 p="">
Thank you Hessa for you time and i wish you best of luck.

A traditional gathering.

Girgi3an! so as you all Arabs may know about girgi3an, we had a grgi3an gathering today. and for all my followers that don't know what girgi3an is, its a traditional 'gulf' celebration which usually takes place on the 13, 14,15 day o Ramadan pretty much like Halloween the concept that children dress up and knock on the neighbourhood, sing, and get sweets however our kids dress up traditionally with bright colours. So I wasn't in Kuwait for this years girgi3an so it wasn't very special. So me and my sister decided to MAKE it special we did a little gathering with friends over, but I had nothing that suited the dress up criteria. However I did have this printed fabric I wanted to make ages ago but didn't have time. Therefor I gave it to my mum and she made it for me in 2 hours, I know she's super mum hehehe and here's the full outfit....

Long cardigan: Hudzii Design made by mum
Under Dress: H&M
Jeans: Zara
Shoes: Graceland (Westfield )

Why are watches worn on the left ?

A random topic today. But I'm sure you guys wonder why watches are worn on the left wrist, because its etiquette? That's what I thought. Well i found out their it's because its more easier for a right handed person to put the watch on the left hand using the dominant hand, especially if the watch has a tang buckle. Therefore i have concluded it's due to comfort and more convenient. So no not due to etiquette or prestige.
